PROJECT
Our team embarked on a project to develop a new business model for a new menstrual health platform. The initiative aimed to demonstrate the platform's value to investors while ensuring its solutions remained accessible and impactful for the target audience.

PROJECT IMPACT
The project successfully secured Juntas’ pre-seed investment round, enabling the development and expansion of its digital health education platform with the potential to impact 8 million girls in Peru. Juntas also received the Desafío Kunan award, in recognition of its educational initiative through the project.

UNDERSTANDING THE LIMITATIONS
We began with an in-depth investigation of how menstruation is experienced among the youth in Peru, combining expert consultations and academic research. We uncovered critical insights into the challenges faced by young individuals, validating the urgent need for accessible and reliable menstrual education, products and resources, shaping the foundation for our project.

DEFINING THE USER'S ASPIRATIONS
With the context established, we focused on understanding the particular experiences, challenges, and aspirations of our target users. Through interviews, surveys, cultural probes and group interviews, we uncovered their needs, interests and aspirations for their menstrual experience. As a result of this research, we were able to craft user personas and journey maps that helped us guide our product functionalities later on.

DESIGNING THE SOLUTION
Building on our research, we designed Juntas Salud, a digital platform dedicated to empowering Peruvian youth to experience a safer, friendlier and more informed menstruation.
Building on our research, we designed Juntas Salud, a digital platform dedicated to empowering Peruvian youth to experience a safer, friendlier and more informed menstruation.
The platform was designed to address user needs through high-quality, accesible menstrual products; access to expert advice and materials to dismiss myths and promote healthier practices; and a safe space for users to share experiences and receive reliable guidance on menstrual health.

A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH
Our platform and target audience were supported by other elements of the Juntas ecosystem, in which we developed several product and communications strategies to reach greater markets and increase our imapact.

Eventually, all these combined efforts led the company to earn their pre-seed round of investment and continue their mission to address the challenges of Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) and Health in Peru.
